Obituary

Harold L. Bud Libbey 84, of Chicopee a member of the Greatest Generation died Monday February 18, 2013 after a long illness surrounded by his family. Born in Wentworth, NH May 2, 1928 son of the late Earl and Elsie (McCloud) Libbey. Educated in local New Hampshire schools he was a graduate of Orford, NH High School. He proudly served his country during World War II as a member of the United States Navy. He attained the rank of apprentice seaman. He was a lifetime member of the DAV. He was a diesel mechanic for Cummins North America with over 25 years of service retiring in 2000. He was a 25 year member of the Baystate Lodge 1898 of the International Association of Machinist and Aerospace Workers. He survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Barbara (Derosia) Libbey, a son Brian E. Libbey and his wife Maria of Ludlow, Grandfather of Benjamin E. Libbey and his wife Sara of Hampden, MA Brother of Mary Stone of Enfield, NH. Also survived by extended family members and friends. Sadly he was pre-deceased by a brother Earl B. Libbey, Jr.
