Gerald J. Cook 80 of Ludlow died Friday, November 30, 2012, in Baystate Medical Center. Born in Holyoke, MA, March 3, 1932, son of the late John P. and Lorraine (Dragon) Cook. He attended Perpetual Help Grammar School, and was a 1949 Graduate of Holyoke High School. Gerald proudly served his country during the Korean War, as a piano player in the Air Force Band. He later went to Hartt School of Music, to further his musical accomplishments. Gerald was employed by the Holyoke Post Office with over 41 years of service. He was noted as a piano teacher for over 45 years, and loved to teach piano to children, and his grandchildren. He was a member of the Holyoke American Legion Post 351, and a Communicant of Christ the King Church. He also loved horse racing and Saratoga. He was also and New England sports fan, cheering for the Patriots and the Red Sox, and loved spring training. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Mary E. (Bixby) Cook. A stepson Frank Murray and his wife Laurie of Belchertown. 2 sisters Alice Marquis of Holyoke, MA, and Cosette Lindley of Longmeadow, MA. Grandfather of Frank Gerald Murray, and Kelly Murray, and Michael Murray. Also survived by nieces and nephews extended family members and friends including feline friends Maura, Lily, Lucky and Pumpkin II. Sadly he was predeceased by a brother John Cook and his wife Velma. A brother in law James LindleySr., a nephew James Lindley, Jr.

Funeral services celebrating his life will be Saturday, December 8, 2012, with family and friends gathering at 8:45 AM at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home 64 Sewall St. Ludlow followed by a 10 AM Liturgy of Christian Burial in Christ the King Church 41 Warsaw Ave. Ludlow at 10 AM.
