Obituary

Genevieve (Wrona) Story, 96, of Ludlow, MA was called safely home on November 1, 2015. Born March 9, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Honorata (Starsiak) Wrona. She was relocated to Poland at 9 years old and returned to Ludlow at 19 years old.

She went to Dearborn, MI to work at Ford Motor Company. She met and married the love of her life, John D. Story on May 31, 1942. They spent 69 happily married years together until his passing in July, 2011. Genevieve was a full time homemaker who took pride in her family. She was a kind, loving and giving mother and grandmother. She and her late husband, John, hosted many picnics for family and friends at their camp at Holland Lake.

Genevieve was an accomplished quilt maker who made sure each family member had their own quilt. In addition to her crafting talents, she was versatile in sewing, knitting and crochet. She also enjoyed making authentic Polish dishes. She enjoyed spending time with her family and special cat, Whiskers. Genevieve was a faithful communicant of Christ the King Church in Ludlow.

Genevieve was the loving mother to Jeanette Crumb and her husband Peter of Belchertown; Kathleen Harlan and her husband Paul of Hampden and Cynthia Gagne and her husband Geoffrey of Stafford Springs, CT and her predeceased son Joseph Halama and daughter-in-law Lottie Halama of Indian Orchard. Mom, Thank you so much for being my mom. You thought us the meaning of life and gave your love selflessly. I will miss our trips to Big-Y and Walmart. Most of all, I will miss your smile when I came to visit and you waving at the back door when I was leaving. I will remember you always and will say a Hail Mary for you every day. Love, Kathy
