Genevieve "Jenny" (Robak) Fijal

Genevieve “Jenny” (Robak) Fijal, 95, of Ludlow passed away peacefully on Friday, March 3, 2017 surrounded by her loving family.  Daughter of the late Stanley and Mary (Galica) Robak, she was born December 3, 1921 in Chicopee Falls, MA.  Educated in Chicopee schools, she worked at the former Alamac Knitting Mills for over 25 years. Genevieve was a devoted communicant of Christ the King Church in Ludlow.

Genevieve was very proud of her Polish heritage and loved polka music. An avid Boston Red Sox fan, she enjoyed going to Fenway Park into her 90’s.

Genevieve is survived by her children Barbara Cannon, Richard Fijal and his wife Laraine, of Ludlow, Mary Beaudion and her husband David of Chicopee, Cynthia Fonseca and her husband Frank also of Ludlow, John Fijal and his wife Jill of Belchertown.  She also leaves 10 beloved grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.  Sadly, she was predeceased by her husband Andrew Fijal in 1999.

Funeral Services celebrating Genevieve’s life will be held Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at 9:00 AM at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home, 64 Sewall St, Ludlow, MA. Followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Christ the King Church, Warsaw Avenue, Ludlow, MA.  Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Chicopee, MA.  Visiting hours at the funeral home will be Tuesday, March 7, 2017 from 4:00-7:00 PM.
