Frank A. Manzi, 89, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 1, 2020. Son of the late Domenico and Amibella (Bonavita) Manzi, he was born in Springfield on November 20, 1930. A graduate of the former Springfield Trade High School, Frank proudly served his country as a Corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He went on to bravely serve as a Captain in the Springfield Fire Department for 30 years. Frank’s family was his greatest joy and highest priority. Sunday dinners were one of his favorite times.
Frank is survived by his loving daughters Rosemary Jorge and her husband David of Ludlow and Toniann Glaser and her husband Jay of Holyoke; his brother William Manzi of Wilbraham; his sisters Lucy Gentile and Mary Gulluni. He also leaves his 2 beloved grandchildren Nicholas and Anthony Jorge as well as many nieces and nephews. Sadly, he was predeceased by his wife of 60 years Theresa “Peggy” Manzi in March of 2019 and his siblings Salvatore Manzi, Rose Mastrangelo and Philomena Danise.
Frank’s family would like to thank Tracy Boisselle and the staff of Willimansett Center West for the care and comfort provided to him.

Looking back at family photos, I always smile when I come to the one of little Rachel at the fire station. In a fire helmet and boots past my knees, I bet it was always a great adventure. Nothing could have been better than playing dress up at a real fire station. Uncle Chico was always fun to be around. He was quick, witty and kind. He and Aunty Peggy could get the crowd going. I truly enjoyed and loved both of them. And I could always see how much they loved each other and their family. We will dearly miss our Uncle Chico.
