Obituary

Fannie (Kalita) Korol, 96, a lifelong Ludlow resident passed away peacefully on Monday, April 24, 2017.  Daughter of the late Samuel and Clementine (Steranka) Kalita, she was born September 2, 1920.  Fannie loved gardening and music.  She was an accomplished painter, sharing her beautiful work with family and friends.  Fannie was an active member of Ludlow Grange # 179 for over 50 years.

Fannie is survived by her daughter Patricia Wilson and her husband Scott of Ghent, NY, her brother Raymond Kalita of Springfield, MA and her granddaughters Tamara Coleman of Long Beach, CA and Carissa Fair of Spencertown, NY. She also leaves her 3 beloved great-grandchildren Alexander, Samantha and Rylie as well as several nieces and nephews.  Sadly she was predeceased by her husband Fred Korol in 2004.

Funeral Services celebrating Fannie’s life will be held Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 11:30 AM at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home, 64 Sewall St, Ludlow, MA. Burial will follow in Island Pond Cemetery, Center St., Ludlow, MA.  Visiting hours at the funeral home will be Saturday, April 30, 2017 from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.  Memorial donations may be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 516 Carew St, Springfield, MA 01104.

Dear Pat & Family, So sincerely sorry on the loss of your Mom. I will never forget the candy she use to bring us back from the Cape in summer for taking care of the mail. All the sledding we did as kids on your Mom's hill. Your childhood neighbor, Dianne.
