Obituary

Faith (Robinson) Borden, 85, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2025. Born May 18, 1940 in Springfield, she was the daughter of the late Maurice and Ethel (Harris) Robinson. A proud 1958 graduate of Springfield Technical High School, Faith went on the earn her RN at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital and her BSN from AIC. This began a remarkable 61-year nursing career. Faith found her greatest purpose late in her career doing pediatric home care, which she described as challenging and deeply rewarding.

Faith married her beloved husband Dick Borden. Together they shared adventures like running road races and cheering Dick on as he ran the Boston Marathon. Family was Faith’s true joy. She delighted in simple pleasures like walks with her daughters and dogs in Chicopee State Park, gathering for the annual Robinson clan picnic at Look Park. Faith made a point of celebrating family milestones and events and always connecting with family and friends, near and far. She was an active member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Ludlow. A woman of strength and generosity, Faith brought warmth and comfort into every life she touched. A confidante and caregiver, she was always ready to help, be it friend, neighbor or stranger. A talented knitter, she donated countless hats to women’s shelters, quietly spreading warmth and care where it was most needed. Her wide circle of family, friends and neighbors will forever remember her wisdom, tenacity and love.

Faith is survived by her daughters Julia Reidy, Alana Cullington and Amy Goodyear, her grandchildren Ethan, LaRae, Danny and Rachel; her siblings Donald, David, Matt, Bill, Steve and Keith and her special friend Sue, as well as a wide circle of extended family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband Dick and her siblings Larry and Judy.

Beloved sister Judy always comforted with ”this too shall pass”. Faith joked “If it’s Borden’s, it’s got to be good”. Her memory and legacy, loving, strong and steadfast will remain in our hearts forever.

A graveside service for Faith will be held Friday, August 8, 2025 at 11:00 AM in Hillcrest Park Cemetery, 895 Parker St., Springfield, MA.

Faith was one of the nicest ladies I have ever met. She and her husband were always so kind and such a special couple. My thoughts and prayers to her family.

Sister Faith, you and I spent over 82 years together and traveled many happy and difficult roads together. I will greatly miss our texting to each other and giving each other support and encouragement. You were concerned about me and Sara on our ALS journey and I was equally concerned about you living alone. We had each other’s back. We have so many memories together and losing you is so difficult. May you continue on your journey in the arms of our Lord and Savior. Condolences to all your loved ones particularly Julia, Amy and Alana.
