Fabiola E. (Syriac) Bourcier, 97, a lifelong Ludlow resident, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 1, 2019. Daughter of the late Louis and Jennie (Stone) Syriac, she was born January 30, 1922. Educated in Ludlow schools, Fabiola worked as an assembler at Smith and Wesson for many years. She was a devout communicant of St. Elizabeth’s Parish in Ludlow and a member of the Ladies of St. Anne.
Fabiola is survived by her children Donald Bourcier (Anita) of West Springfield; David Bourcier (Linda) of Ludlow; Suzanne McKirdy (David) of Woodbury, CT; Denise Tomlinson (Alan) and Rochelle Patrie (Alfred), both of Ludlow and her sister Theresa Ouellette of Ludlow. She also leaves her 14 beloved grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Sadly she was predeceased by her husband Francis Bourcier and her daughter Michelle Bourcier.
Fabiola’s family would like to thank Connie, Glenis, Donna and Kate for the wonderful care they provided to their mother.
Visiting hours for Fabiola will be held Monday, May 6, 2019 from 9:00-10:00 AM at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home, 64 Sewall St, Ludlow, MA followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in St. Elizabeth’s Church, Hubbard St., Ludlow, MA. Burial will be in St. Aloysius Cemetery, Berkshire Avenue, Springfield, MA. In lieu of flowers, Fabiola’s family requests that donations be made to Perkin’s School for the Blind, 175 North Beacon St., Watertown, MA 02472 or St. Elizabeth’s Parish, 181 Hubbard St., Ludlow, MA 01056.
