Obituary

Ellen B. (Clark) Porter, 90, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 16, 2018. Born in Springfield on January 27, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Everett and Florence (Barber) Clark. Ellen graduated from the High School of Commerce and worked as a bookkeeper for several area truck and car dealerships. She was an active member of Union Church of Christ in Ludlow for over 50 years. She held numerous offices including Treasurer and was a member of the Ladies Aid and Fair Committee. She was a member of the Lucy Webb Hayes Rebekah Lodge from 1946-1991, serving as Noble Grand in 1972. Ellen loved spending time with her family, especially vacations. She was an accomplished seamstress, an avid quilter and enjoyed making jigsaw puzzles. She loved her Red Sox, never missing a game.

Ellen leaves behind four children: Clark Woodard (Carol Rodrigues); Diane Wright (Michael); Deborah Porter Savoie and Janet Pollander all of Ludlow. She also leaves 8 grandchildren Patrick, Rebecca, Jennifer, Pamela, Brianne, Eric, Cameron and Max, as well as 6 great grandchildren. Sadly, she was predeceased by her husband of 45 years Sidney Porter in 2002.

Service Information

Funeral Services for Ellen will be held Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at 11:00 AM the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home, 64 Sewall St, Ludlow, MA. Burial will be in Hillcrest Park Cemetery.


Donation Information

Donations in Ellen’s memory may be made to Union Church of Christ, P.O. Box 445, Ludlow, MA 01056.

Hello Clark, Diane, Debbie & Janet, so sorry to hear the news about your Mom, she is someone that if u belonged to Union Church during our area u knew exactly who she was. Your family has always been there and we all have cherished your interest and love towards us & so many others in the church family. U were all very special and so so supportive like the Crandalls and overs and always went over your needs to made Union Church a better place for everyone there. May Ellen RIP and we will never forget her or u all and thank u all from the bottom of our hearts for all u have done to make us all better people in this big world out there. We don't always do the right things in life on a daily basis but she was always there w/a smile on her face to welcome u no matter what. God Bless u all:)
