Obituary

Elisia (Fernandes) Leonardo, 94, of Ludlow passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 28, 2018.  A lifelong resident, she was born in Ludlow February 11, 1923.  Educated in local schools, Elisia was a talented seamstress, working at the Carter and Latrique companies for many years.  She was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church.

Elisia is survived by her beloved daughter Adel Valadas and her husband Jose, her grandchildren Odette Taylor and her husband Matthew and Daniel Valadas and his wife Susan, all of Ludlow.  She also leaves her 7 beloved great-grandchildren Emily, Andrea, Benjamin, Isabella, Amelia, Daniel and Julia.  Sadly she was predeceased by her husband Jose Leonardo in 1987.

Elisia’s family would like to thank the staff of Life Care Center of Wilbraham for the wonderful care they provided to Elisia.

Service Schedule

Visitation Information

Visiting hours for Elisia will be Saturday, February 3, 2018 from 9:00-10:30 at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home, 64 Sewall St., Ludlow, MA


Service Information

A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM in Our Lady of Fatima Church.  Burial will follow in St. Aloysius Cemetery.


Donation Information

In lieu of flowers, Elisia’s family requests that memorial donations be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 20 Batterson Park Road, Suite 302, Farmington, CT 06032 or www.jdrf.org.
