Edward T. Borek

Edward T. Borek, 91, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 27, 2019, surrounded by his loving family.  Son of the late Thomas and Mary (Femiak) Borek, he was born in Hartford, CT on March 3, 1928. Edward proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army National Guard. He worked in various capacities at Pratt and Whitney for many years.  He was an avid New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox and UConn Women’s Basketball fan.  Edward was a man of strong faith whose greatest joy in life was spending time with his family. He was a true gentleman and always had a positive outlook.

Edward is survived by his son Jason Borek and his wife MaryEllen of West Springfield, his daughters Kathryn Solinas and her husband James of Brookline, NH; Karen Miller and her husband David of Powell, OH and Jeannine Borek of Springfield.  He also leaves his beloved grandchildren Hannah, Harrington, Julia, Paige, Audrey, Anthony, Maliyah, Amerie and Richard, as well as his dear friends and neighbors Dave and Marge Midwood and their daughters Emily and Alyssa.  Sadly he was predeceased by his wife Gloria (DeRosambeau) Borek in 2010 and sons Thomas Borek in 1974 and Paul Borek in 1986 and his siblings Joseph, Catherine, Julia and Bertha.

Visiting hours for Edward will be Friday, October 4, 2019 from 9:00-10:15 AM at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home, 64 Sewall St., Ludlow, MA followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in St. Elizabeth’s Parish, Hubbard St., Ludlow, MA.  Rites of Committal will be in St. Aloysius Cemetery.  Memorial Donations in Edward’s memory may be made to the   Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104 or www.lovetotherescue.org.
