Edward J. Collings, 67, of Ludlow, passed away on Friday, April 29, 2022. Born in Springfield on September 25, 1954, he was the son of the late Ernest and Pauline (Dustin) Collings.
Edward was predeceased by his sister Shirley Fitzgerald of Ludlow and is survived by his sisters Helen Cannamela of Wilbraham, Edna von Husen of Dover, N.H., Edith Tipton of Ludlow and Paula Chartier of Belchertown, along with many nieces and nephews.
Edward was a longtime Ludlow resident and graduate of Ludlow High School. After graduation Ed attended STCC where he studied graphic arts. He had been working at Big Y/Fresh Acres for many years.
Throughout his life he had a kind, loving heart and never complained despite his life’s challenges. In his earlier years he loved to draw and paint. He enjoyed the simple things, like being around his family, spending time with friends and listening to music. During the summer, Ed loved being outdoors admiring nature and all of God’s creatures. He did that while camping, fishing and bike riding, often spending quality time at Quabbin Reservoir.
