Edmund J. McDonagh 79 of Ludlow died Sunday October 13, 2013 in an Agawam nursing home. Born in Springfield, MA July 20, 1934, son of the late Myles T. and Aurelia (Vieu) McDonagh. Educated in local schools, he attained his bachelors degree in business from for Western New England University. He proudly served his country during the Korean War as a member of the Army of the United States. Ed was a business executive for over 30 years, and had worked for Deutsche-Babcock Power. A member of the Catholic Community of St. Elizabeth, he was an avid rider of motorcycles, and he loved to travel the United States. He was a trustee for Chapin Greene Condominiums, for over 17 years, and had been a magician at the former Grand Theatre. He is survived by his wife Kathleen M. (Stroiney) McDonagh, a son Keith McDonagh and his wife Tracy, of Suffield, CT his grandchildren Evan and Adam McDonagh, his step children Adrien Ouellette of Ludlow,MA Thomas Ouellette and his wife Ana of Gaithersburg, MD, Robert Ouellette and his wife Sue of Agawam, MA and Anne Pouilot and her husband Daniel of West Springfield, MA. Brother of Linda Pezzote and her husband Ronald of Winnabow, NC and Thomas McDonagh and his wife Linda of Springfield, MA Also survived by extended family members and friends. Sadly he was predeceased by a brother Allan McDonagh and sister Patricia Griffin. Island Pond Cemetery.

Funeral services celebrating his life will be Thursday October 17, 2013 at 8:45 AM from the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home 64 Sewall St. Ludlow, MA followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial offered by the Catholic Community of St. Elizabeth in St. John the Baptist Church 181 Hubbard St. Ludlow at 10 AM Rites of committal will follow in Island Pond Cemetery.
