Donald P. McMahon

Donald P. McMahon , 68 , passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, June 28, 2014 surrounded by his family after a valiant battle with cancer. Born in Greenfield, MA on August 19, 1945, he was the son of the late Raymond P. and Gladys E. (Mills) McMahon.

He attended Greenfield schools and after graduation enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, where he proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. After his discharge, he graduated from North Adams State College and then earned his MBA from Western New England College. He worked as an accountant for several years before making a career change to work in Information Technology. He was then a computer programmer until he retired from the University of Massachusetts in 2007.

Don loved woodworking, golf, traveling, watching the New England Patriots, and spending time with his family. He was a member of Union Church of Christ in Ludlow.

Don leaves his wife of nearly 32 years, Susan (Rodrigues) McMahon and one son, Jason D. McMahon. He also leaves two brothers-in-law, Gary Rodrigues of Quincy, MA and Brian Rodrigues of Ludlow, MA. His brother, Raymond L. McMahon, pre-deceased him in February, 2014. He leaves four nephews: David McMahon, James McMahon, and John McMahon all of Greenfield and Robert McMahon and his wife Sylvia of Bernardston, MA, as well as 8 great-nieces and nephews and 7 great-great nieces and nephews.
