Diolinda (Machado) Fernandes, 90, of Springfield, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 15, 2020. Born November 13, 1929 in Ludlow, she was the daughter of the late John and Edith (Santos) Machado. Diolinda was a 1948 graduate of Ludlow High School.
Diolinda is survived by her son Thomas Fernandes of Springfield; her daughter Yvonne Costa of Chicopee and 2 brothers Michael and Charles Machado, both of Ludlow. She also leaves her 2 beloved grandchildren Tina Grimaldi and her husband Dominic and Corey Costa and his wife Angie, as well as her 5 great-grandchildren Christopher, Tyler, Aiden, Madison and Ryder.
Funeral services for Diolinda will be held Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at 10:30 AM at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home, 64 Sewall St., Ludlow, MA. Burial will follow in Island Pond Cemetery. Visiting hours at the funeral home will precede the service from 9:30-10:30 AM.
