Charles E. “Scuffy” Muniec, 90, of Brimfield, MA passed away Sunday, January 29, 2017. Born February 23, 1926 in Palmer, MA, he was the son of the late Victor and Mary (Lebida) Muniec. Educated in Palmer schools, Charles proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was employed by Diamond International for many years.
Charles was a member and past Commander of VFW Post 1813, a member of the Amvets Club and the St. Mary’s Club in Bondsville, MA. He was an avid Polka music fan and loved Polka dancing. He was a lifelong N.Y. Yankees fan.
Charles is survived by his son Larry Muniec and his wife Heidi and three daughters Judy Powers and her husband Michael; Barbara Veale and her husband Alan and Pamela Lessard and his sister Irene Niejadlik. He also leaves 9 beloved grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Sadly he was predeceased by his wife Evelyn (Cembura) Muniec, grandson Christopher and great-grandson Trevor.
Visiting hours at the funeral home are Friday, February 3, 2017 from 4:00-7:00 PM
Funeral services for Charles will be held Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 9:45 AM at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home, 64 Sewall St., Ludlow, MA followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in Christ the King Church, Warsaw Ave., Ludlow, MA. Rites of Committal with Military Honors will be Monday, February 6, 2017 at 1:00 PM at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Agawam, MA.
Memorial donations in Charles’ memory may be made to Bethany Charismatic Church, P.O. Box 607, Palmer, MA 01069.
