Carol (Redin) Alves, 78, of Ludlow passed away tragically on Tuesday, July 4, 2017. Born September 17, 1938 in Ludlow, she was the daughter of the late John and Helen (Lengieza) Redin. A graduate of Ludlow High School, Carol went on to work at Monsanto and later worked for many years at Mass Mutual as an Executive Assistant. She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth’s Parish in Ludlow.
Carol is survived by her sons David J. Alves and his wife Cynthia of Sudbury, MA and Daniel J. Alves of Monson, MA; her brother Robert Redin and his wife Nina of Ludlow, her sisters Sandi Dolley and her husband Brian of Ludlow and Darlene Morin of Sleepy Hollow, NY. She also leaves her beloved grandchildren Dr. Meghan Alves, Eric, Jennifer and Christopher Alves. Sadly her beloved husband Alfred R. Alves and her son Darrin J. Alves passed away with her on July 4, 2017.
Dan and Eric, my sincerest condolences for the loss. I cannot possibly imagine the sorrow that must be weighing on your hearts right now after this tragedy, but I can only hope that the outpouring of love you are all receiving helps in even the slightest way.

Visiting hours will be Sunday, July 9, 2017 from 1:00-5:00 PM at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home, 64 Sewall St, Ludlow, MA.
Family and friends are asked to gather for a Funeral Mass on Monday, July 10, 2017 at 11:30 AM at St. Elizabeth’s Parish, Hubbard St. Ludlow, MA. Burial will follow in Island Pond Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers or gifts the Alves family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 309 Waverly Oaks Road, Waltham, MA 02452.
