LUDLOW – Carol G. (Moore) Blais, the daughter of the late Walter and Doris (Meserve) Moore, died peacefully at home on Tuesday January 21, 2014 surrounded by the family she loved. Born in Ludlow, MA she was a life long resident, and graduated from Ludlow High School in 1950. She worked as a systems analyst for Digital Equipment Company, and retired in 1983. She was the past president of the Western New England Iris Society and enjoyed taking visitors for a tour of her gardens. She loved to spend time hybridizing her irises and day lilies, quilting, knitting (especially hats and mittens for premature babies), and exploring her genealogy. Carol was the devoted wife of Robert A. Blais for 62 wonderful years. She was the mother of Gail Corliss and her husband Ray of Springfield, MA Robert C. Blais and his wife Susan of Warren, MA, Joanne Bell and her husband Greg of Wilbraham, MA, and David Blais and his wife Sherry of Hampden, and James Blais and his wife Kathy of Panama City Beach, FL. She was predeceased by her daughter Vivian Morrissey, her sister Beverly McManus, and her brother Walter Moore Jr. She leaves behind a sister and brother in law Judy and Frank Savoy, of Midlothian, VA. Grandmother of 21, and great grandmother of 19, as well as many nieces and nephews, all of whom will miss her dearly, and find peace knowing she’s walking now in Heaven’s gardens.
