Obituary

Bernadette A. (Bourcier) Bourbeau 79 of Ludlow died Saturday May 25, 2013 in the care and comfort of her home. A Tour de force who loved to sing and dance and shared her love of music and love of life with all her family and friends. Born in Ludlow, MA November 29, 1933 daughter of the late Lionel and Bertha (Plouffe) Bourcier. Educated in local schools, she was a lifelong Communicant of the Catholic Community of St. Elizabeth. Bernadette had worked as a bookkeeper for Ludlow Hospital, and Steiger’s Department Stores. An accomplished vocalist and pianist, she was a member of the St. John the Baptist Church Choir, the Heralds of the Lord, The Musical Notes, and the Wilbraham Women’s Club Choral Group. She was a member of the Ladies of Saint Anne, The Red Hat Society, and had been a Cub Scout leader. She was the widow of Gerard W. Bourbeau who died in 1999. She is survived by her loving family, children Gary Bourbeau and his wife Gloria of Ludlow, Raymond Bourbeau of Springfield, Anne Bourbeau of Easthampton, Maureen Bourbeau of West Chesterfield, Elaine Taylor and her husband Paul of West Springfield, Angela Moorhouse of Ludlow, and Matthew Bourbeau and his wife Jessica of Easthampton. Grandmother of Sarah, Joshua, Susannah, David, Diane, Dawn, Sam, Emily, Jessica, Abby, Alicia, Meagan, Austin, Owen, and Ava. Great-grandmother of Lila, Grace, and Luca. Loving companion of Richard Gagnon. Also survived by extended family members and friends.

Service Information

Funeral services celebrating her life will be Thursday May 30, 2013 at 8:45 AM from the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home 64 Sewall St. Ludlow followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial offered by the Catholic Community of St. Elizabeth in St. John the Baptist Church 181 Hubbard St. Ludlow at 10 AM. Msgr. Homer P. Gosselin will preside. Rites of Committal will follow in Island Pond Cemetery.
