Benjamin Edgar, 93, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 20, 2014 at the Holyoke Soldiers Home. He was born in Ludlow, MA
He proudly served his country during WW II as a member of the U.S. Navy. After his discharge, he obtained his degree in education in three years at American International College. He loved teaching and became the principal of the Jacksonville, VT school system.
Following his teaching career he returned to Ludlow and was an insurance executive for 33 years.
Ben was an avid reader. He loved golf and the Red Sox. He was often heard saying when leaving I leave you in radiant contentment
Benjamin leaves his wife of 63 years Claire; one son Mark Edgar and his wife Lorna; and one daughter Gail Berendzen and her husband Richard. He also leave his loving grandchildren Casey Edgar and his wife Amanda; Beth Dufresne and her husband Matthew; Natasha Berendzen and her husband Tim Krueger. He has 2 great-grandchildren Reed Alyn and Sophie Claire.
Private funeral services will be held Thursday, June 26, 2014 at the convienence of the family
