Barbara A. Libiszewski, 81, died peacefully on Monday, June 16, 2025, surrounded by her loving family in the comfort of her home in Wilbraham, MA. Barbara was born on November 25, 1943, to the late Joseph and Sophie Nowak and was predeceased by her brother, Gary in 2012. Barbara graduated from Holyoke High School in 1961 and Bay Path College in 1963. Barbara embraced careers as a Legal Secretary at MassMutual and in the management of her husband’s business, D. E. Libiszewski Home Improvements.
Barbara most cherished her family, raising two children, Darlene and Donald Jr., with her husband of 60 years, Donald Libiszewski, Sr. Barbara’s love and devotion to her husband was unwavering as they built and lived their life together – they honored their vows, even throughout their most challenging life and health circumstances, culminating with her husband diligently providing extraordinary love, assistance and care for her until her final moments.
She was very proud of her children and instrumental in sharing her joys of travel and the beach – be it Spec Pond, Otis, Ogunquit, Clearwater or some other destination that she was inspired to explore. She taught her children how to be curious, kind and successful, as she delighted in seeing the beauty, humor and good in nearly everyone and everything she encountered, including complete strangers, along her various journeys.
Simply put, Barbara was a wonderful person and will be deeply missed by many. Her family and those closest to her will forever cherish Barbara’s enduring love, resilience, ability to see beauty in all things and sense of humor, remarkably, even during her most difficult and final days. The Libiszewski family is grateful for the loving care provided by Barbara’s team of skilled healthcare professionals, especially the services of Baystate Medical Center and Beacon Hospice Care – both care teams have been a precious gift to our family.
Forever putting her family first, Barbara’s final wish is for a private memorial service at the convenience of her family. May Barbara rest in perpetual peace, love and comfort as we all strive to honor and exemplify her beautifully lived life
