Adrien J. 'Bill' Monchamp

Adrien J. Bill Monchamp 86, a member of the Greatest Generation died Sunday May 11, 2013 in the care and comfort of his home surrounded with loved ones. Born in Holyoke, MA October 1,1926, son of the late Adrien and Antoinette (Dietrich) Monchamp. Educated in local schools, he proudly served his country during World War II as a Machinist Mate Third Class, with the United States Navy he was awarded the World War II Victory Medal, The American Area Medal and the Asiatic Pacific Theatre Medal. An accomplished cabinet maker, he had worked for Roy Lumber and Rudd Lumber, and Healey Cabinet Works.
Bill was a member of the American Legion, and had been a Boy Scout leader. The happiest times in his life were spent with his family, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Anne (Hart) Monchamp of Ludlow, his children, Peter Monchamp of Sterling, MA Douglas Monchamp of Hudson, NH, Carol Bardon of Ludlow, MA and Julie Reynolds of Ware, MA. Brother of Cecile Guertin of Ludlow, MA and Laurie Jacque of Amherst, MA. Cherished grandfather of Kevin, Jenna, Karen, Amanda, Nicole, Ted, Alisa, Joshua, Rebecca, and Ariel. Great-grandfather of Joshua, Adeline, and Michelle. Also survived by extended family members and friends. Sadly he was pre-deceased by a sister Lillian Jacque.
