Wanda (Ziemian) Karczmarczyk

Wanda (Ziemian) Karczmarczyk 89 of Laconia St. died Wednesday July 7, 2010 in an East Longmeadow nursing home. Born in the Indian Orchard section of Springfield December 18, 1920 daughter of the late Stanley and Anna (Janeczek) Ziemian. A faithful Communicant of Christ the King Church she was a member of it’s St. Ann’s Sodality and Ladies Guild. Wanda was active in Sr. Citizens Activities in the Town of Ludlow, She was a Member of the Ludlow Council on Aging, Ludlow Sr. Citizens Club, and Advisory Board, she was a Tour Planner and Escort for Senior Citizens Tours for 22 years. Wanda was a 25 year volunteer with RSVP, and was the 1995 Mary Dion Award Recipient, and was a long time member of the Friends of the Senior Center. She was the widow of Joseph F. Karczmarczyk who died June 27, 1994. She is survived by her daughter Barbara Wakem and her husband Ted and a sister Irene Boduch, all of East Longmeadow devoted grandmother of Joseph Wakem and his wife Jennifer, Jeffery Wakem and his wife Stacy, and Marc Wakem and his wife Kaitlyn, cherished great grandmother of MacKenzie and Olivia Wakem. Aunt of Dr. Thomas Boduch and his wife Betty of Kingston, TN. Also survived by many extended family members and friends.
