Virginia (Ginny) D. Lyons, 81, of Ludlow MA passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2014 in Springfield, MA after a brief illness. Born on March 24, 1933 in Boston, MA to Nicholas Bonelli & Catherine Genovese-Bonelli. Ginny was employed by Milton Bradley for 9 years, was a water safety instructor for 32 years and a physical education instructor for 22 years in various places: Trinity Church, Springfield MA, Ludlow Boys and Girls Club, Girl Scout Camp Wachogee, Chicopee MA, teaching both babies and adults to swim. She grew up in Boston and moved to Ludlow in 1958. Her hobbies included painting and jewelry making and she gifted many of her creations to family and friends. She enjoyed Ballroom Dancing and swam regularly at Whitney Park in Ludlow and loved to travel with family, friends and her grandsons. Memberships included the Maguire Center morning swim group in Chicopee, art student of Jean Reich and Laura Roussi, Ballroom Dance Club, E Longmeadow, After Five Tea Dance Club, Agawam and Walker Hall Dance Group, Springfield. She was a member of Immaculate Conception church, Springfield.
She will be sadly missed by her husband of 61 years, Joseph F. Lyons of Ludlow, daughter Diane Lyons-Frasco of Agawam MA, son Joseph S. Lyons & wife Diane of Palmer MA, and son Dwayne Lyons of Ludlow MA and his long-time companion Jane Duggan of Wales MA, grandsons Paul Frasco of Agawam MA and Gregory Frasco of Boston MA, brother Albert Bonelli and wife Peggy of Plymouth MA, sister Vivian Landers of Vero Beach FL and other extended family members & ballroom dancing friends.

Funeral services celebrating her life will be Wednesday March 5, 2014 at 9:45 AM from the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home 64 Sewall St. Ludlow followed by an 11 AM Liturgy of Christian Burial in Immaculate Conception Church.
