Veronica S. (Machnik) Goodreau, 91, of Ludlow died peacefully Saturday, March 31 in Baystate Medical Center. Born in Ware, MA February 17, 1921, she was the daughter of Stanley and Stephanie (Mazurek) Machnik. Veronica worked for the former Steigers Department Stores and H.R. Hunting with many years of service. She was a Communicant of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church and a member of its Women’s Club and Daughters of Isabella. She was the widow of Walter H. Goodreau who died in December of 1997. She is survived by her daughters, Marcia A. Amaimo and her husband Morgan of Baltimore, MD and Paula J. Goodreau with whom she lived, and Ronald E. Langevin of Ludlow, MA. She is also survived by her brothers John Machnik of Three Rivers, James Machnik of Wales, her sisters Frederika Roszko of Three Rivers, Irene Baronas of South Deerfield and by many family members and friends. She was predeceased by her brothers Dominick Machnik, Edward Machnik and sister Josephine Machnik.

A funeral service celebrating her life will be held Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at 8:45 AM at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home, 64 Sewall St., Ludlow, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial offered by the Catholic Community of St. Elizabeth in St. John the Baptist Church, 181 Hubbard St., Ludlow. Msgr. Homer P. Gosselin will preside. Rites of Committal will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Ware.
