Theresa M.(Drouin) Hayes, 84, of the Indian Orchard section of Springfield, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 14, 2014. Born in Berlin, NH, October 25, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Edna (LaPointe) Drouin. She grew up in Berlin, attending school there. She married Edward Hayes in 1950 and moved to Springfield.
Theresa worked at Alamac Knitting Mills in Indian Orchard before going to work for Sears Roebuck on Boston Road. She worked at Sears for 23 years retiring in 1991.
Theresa enjoyed crafts, travel and spending special times with her family and friends.
She leaves her family who were very dear to her; two sons Howard Hayes and his wife Myra of East Longmeadow and Barry Hayes and his wife Ellen of Brookline, MA and a sister-in-law Norma Combs of Bend, OR. She also leaves her grandchildren who were very special to her, Jesse Hayes and his wife Melissa of Burlington, CT and Daniel Hayes of Brookline, MA. Theresa also leaves her beloved great-grandchildren Allison, Caroline and Anderson. Sadly she was pre-deceased by her husband and best friend Edward (Bert) Hayes in 1999 and her sister Lucille Chaloux. Theresa also leaves many nieces, nephews and friends.
It was Theresas hope that friends and extended family would join her family for services celebrating her life at 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 22, 2014 at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home, 64 Sewall St, Ludlow, MA. Rites of Committal will follow in St. Aloysius Cemetery, Berkshire Ave, Springfield, MA.
