Obituary

Robert J. Patnode, 89, of Ludlow passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 4, 2015. Son of the late Ernest and Nettie (DeLarm) Patnode, he was born June 13, 1926 in Malone, NY. Bob proudly served his country during World War II as a member of the U.S. Armys 262nd Infantry, serving in the European Theater. He worked for many years as a machinery assembler for area companies.

A 43 year communicant of St. Elizabeths Parish in Ludlow, Bob loved to sing in the choir and was a member of the League of the Sacred Heart. He loved to take long walks, do daily crossword puzzles, go fishing, bowling and shoot pool. His grandchildren remember his harmonica playing and silly jokes. He was also an active member of the Ludlow Senior Center.

Bob is survived by his wife Violetta (Bienvenue) Patnode of Ludlow; two sons Dennis Patnode of Wilbraham and his finacee Virginia Sudano of Wallingford, CT and Richard Patnode and his wife Cindy of Westfield; four daughters Paulette Breton and her husband Raymond of Conway, SC; Renee Stokowski and her husband Edmund of Wilbraham; Michele Soares and her husband Eliano of Palmer and Suzanne Meher and her partner Michael Lussier of South Hadley. He also leaves his step-son George Perreault of Ludlow and his sister Theresa Jachym of New York; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Sadly, Bob was predeceased by his first wife Jeannette (Willette) Patnode in 1997.
