Paul V. Nolan of Ludlow died peacefully at home surrounded by his family as he entered quietly into eternal life. Born to the late Gladys (Decorie) and Raymond Nolan in Indian Orchard on May 3, 1932.
Educated in local schools and a 1951 graduate of Cathedral High School, he was a long time employee of Chapman Valve and Crane Company in Indian Orchard as a pattern maker.
Paul was a communicant of St. Elizabeth’s Parish in Ludlow, MA, where he was long-time volunteer in the annual French Meat Pie Project and monthly spaghetti suppers.
Paul is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Jeannette E. (Langevin) Nolan, his six children, twelve grandchildren, and one great-grandchild on the way.
Father to Mark Nolan of Ludlow; Karen Nolan and husband Charles Takayanagi of Norwood, MA; Carl Nolan and wife Diane of Belchertown, MA; Ellen McKenna and husband John Phylis of York, ME; Mary Paquette and husband Michael of Ludlow; and Kevin Nolan and wife Amy of Acworth, GA.
Loving and supportive grandfather of Jason Zagami, Jill (Zagami) Rockwood and husband Todd, Jonathan Zagami, and Jaime Zagami; Ryan and Derek Nolan; Kathleen and Lindsey McKenna; Allie and Amy Paquette; and Kathryn and Maxwell Nolan. He was very much looking forward to meeting his future great-grandson.
He is also survived by his brother Edmund Nolan and many nieces and nephews.
One of Paul’s favorite things was reminiscing on his years as an all-star baseball player, as well as coaching his children and grandchildren. In 2000, Paul’s contributions and achievements were recognized by the Indian Orchard Athletic Association.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be offered by the Catholic Community of St. Elizabeth in St. John the Baptist Church, 181 Hubbard St. Ludlow, MA on Tuesday July 17 at 10:00am. Rites of Committal will follow at Island Pond Cemetery in Ludlow.
