Merle T. Kendall 87 died peacefully Monday, January 16, in care and comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Hagerstown, MD, June 26, 1924, Son of the late Merle T. and Ruth Kendall. Merle proudly served his country during World War II as a Member of the United States Air Force. He was the owner operator of Kendall Pressure Cast, and also worked at Carlson Pattern Shop, Springfield Cast Products, and Hartford Pattern Work. He was a Communicant of St. Elizabeth Catholic Community. Merle loved to garden and truly had a green thumb, often sharing the fruits of his labor with his family, friends and neighbors. A caring and compassionate man, he was the devoted husband and sweetheart of 64 years to his late wife Marion F. (Nolan) Kendall. He is survived by a son Gary Kendall and his wife Donna of Ludlow, Daughters Linda Cocchi of Ludlow, Lori Robbins and her husband Kevin of Springfield, Kelley McGregor and her husband Eric of Ludlow. Sadly he was predeceased by a son Terry Kendall, and a son in law William Cocchi. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Terri, Jennifer, Bryan, Michael, Jamie, Toni, Kerry Ann, Christopher, Kady, Kristi, Jeffery, Kimberly, and Brittanie. Great-grandfather of 15. Brother of Mae Koonts and her husband Paul of Williamsport, MD. Also survived by a special friend and care giver Dr. Zhongmo Yu, MD, with the Riverbend Group. Also survived by extended family members and friends. Merle’s family wishes to thank Baystate VNA and Hospice for their outstanding care, during Merle’s journey home.

Funeral Services Celebrating his Life will be Friday, January 20 at 10:45 AM from the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home 64 Sewall St. Ludlow followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial offered by the Catholic Community of St. Elizabeth in St. John the Baptist Church 181 Hubbard St. Ludlow, at 12 Noon Msgr. Homer P. Gosselin will preside. Rites of Committal will be Island Pond Cemetery.
