Born on February 10, 1921, Mary T. (Sorcinelli) Hope died on March 7, 2018. She was a lifelong resident of Ludlow and a communicant of the former St. Mary’s Parish and later, St. Elizabeth’s Parish. She was predeceased by her husband, Emil, of 55 years and was the devoted mother of four children: Judith Hope-Klessig of Dryden, NY, Jacqueline Drapeau of Framingham, MA, Robert L’Esperance of Cambridge, MA and Janet Hope of Ludlow, MA. Mary was the loving grandmother of four grandchildren: Darlene Monteiro, Diane Skwisz, Christine Dorsey and Cary Drapeau, and five great grandchildren. She also leaves her sisters Rita Batista of Ludlow and Angelina Fiore of Wilbraham along with several nieces and nephews. Mary was also predeceased by her brother Eugenio Sorcinelli and her sisters Evelyn Anischik and Dolores Uliva.
During the course of her long life, she pursued, with commitment and constancy, her role as wife, mother, small business owner, and community volunteer. In her retirement, she was actively involved at the Ludlow Senior Center.
There are no calling hours.
A funeral Mass in Mary’s memory will be held Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 12:00 Noon in St. Elizabeth’s Parish, 181 Hubbard St., Ludlow, MA.
