Obituary

Mary Elizabeth (McCann) Rodgers 95 of Monroe St. in the Chicopee Falls Section of Chicopee died Tuesday May 24 in Wingate of Hampden Nursing Home. Born in North Grafton, MA July 14, 1915 daughter of the late John C. and Mary (Shaw) McCann. She came to Ludlow as an infant, was educated in locals schools and was a 1934 graduate of Ludlow High School. She had worked for several years at Bay State Gas Company as an administrative assistant. Mary was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Order of the Scottish Clans, and was a member of it’s Past Presidents Society. She had attended Union Church of Christ. Mary will long be remembered for her love of dogs, travel, a good card game, and most importantly for spending time with her family, times that she truly cherished. The entire Rodgers Family wishes to thank the Mary Lyon Nursing Home family for their love, comfort and care during Mary’s stay, your kindness will never be forgotten. Mary was the widow of Allan S. Rodgers who died September 2, 2002. She is survived by her children, Robert M. Rodgers and his wife Barbara of East Longmeadow, Susan S. Rodgers of Monson, and Dr. Elizabeth C. Rodgers and her husband Steven C. Jones of Belchertown. Grandmother of Lt. Commander Peter G. Rodgers USN and his wife Catherine, Daniel Rodgers Jones, and Lindsay Stirling Jones, and step-grandson Scott MacKenzie. Great Grandmother of Malcom and Emma. Also survived by extended family members and friends.

Family and friends are invited to gather for her wake on Monday May 30, from 5-8 PM at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home 64 Sewall St. Ludlow. Funeral services will be private.
