Maria DoCarmo (Loureiro) Barbosa

Maria DoCarmo (Loureiro) Barbosa 93 of Prospect St. Ludlow died Tuesday December 29 at home. Born in Portugal she lived in Ludlow for many years. She was an accomplished seamstress and had worked for ELCO Manufacturing for many years. A Faithful Communicant of Christ the King Church, she was a member of the Portuguese Continental Union, and a member of Luso Life Credit Union. Maria was the widow of Manuel Barbosa who died in 1993. She is survived by her loving family, sons Orlando Barbosa of Ludlow, Joseph Barbosa of Chicopee, and Jorge Barbosa of Westfield, daughters Belmira Clemente, Lucinda Joao, Maria Canelas and Isabel Barbosa all of Ludlow. Sadly she was predeceased by a son Jorge Barbosa in 1954. Grandmother of 13, Great-Grandmother of 27, Great-Great Grandmother of 2. Also survived by many extended family members and friends.
