Lorraine (Yelle) Gelinas

Lorraine T. (Yelle) Gelinas, 87, fell asleep Friday, May 23, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Springfield, daughter of the late Alfred and Lena Gelinas. She had formerly worked for Rex Chain Belt and was a communicant of Christ the King Church. She was an avid reader and her hobbies included crocheting and painting. She crocheted many afghans for the sick and elderly in hospitals and nursing homes. She was a wonderful artist and painted many beautiful paintings. Lorraine also restored religious statues. She is survived by two sons, David L. Gelinas of Warren and Louis A. Gelinas of Burnt Hills, NY, three daughters, Diana Brown of Ludlow, Delima Doran Johnson of Springfield and Doreen Baj of Warren, one brother, Pete Yelle of Wilbraham and two sisters, Marie LaPierre of Springfield and Claire Jagodowski of Holyoke. She also has 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Her brother Norman Yelle predeceased her.
