John D. Story 87 of Ludlow died Thursday July 21, 2011 in a Wilbraham nursing home. Born in Cape Girardeau, MO August 4, 1923 son of the late Joseph and Daisy (Brooks) Story. He has lived in Ludlow for many years. A Navy Veteran of World War II he proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy, he attained the rank of Ship’s Cook First Class, seeing service in the North Atlantic aboard the USS Dover. He was also a longtime employee of Monsanto Chemical Company where he worked as a chemical operator. He was a member of the Monsanto 25 year club. John was also a Communicant of Christ the King Church. He is survived by his wife Genevieve (Wrona) Story, his three daughters Jeanette Crumb and her husband Peter of Belchertown Kathleen Harlan and her husband Paul of Hampden, MA and Cynthia Gagne and her husband Geoffrey of Stafford Springs, CT Sadly he was predeceased by a step son Joseph Halama, and a grandson Grant Leslie. Also survived by 7 Grandchildren, 6 Great-Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great-Granddaughter. Also survived by extended family members and friends.

Service Information

Funeral Services Celebrating his life will be Monday July 25, 2011 at 9 AM from the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial in Christ the King Church at 10 AM Rites of Committal with Military Honors will follow in St. Aloysius Cemetery.
