Obituary

Jeanne M. (Wilson) Linton 83 of Ludlow and Waymart, PA was called home on April 21, 2013, after a short stay at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale, PA. Jeanne was born in Northampton, May 17, 1929, daughter of the late James Kenneth and Louise (Trudeau) Wilson. Educated in local schools, she proudly graduated from Northampton High School, Class of ’47. Along side her husband, they owned and operated Community Sales and Service, and will be fondly remembered as the proprietors of the Villa Rose Restaurant in Ludlow. She may also be remembered by some, as teaching sewing at the Ludlow Girls Club and worked as a Noon Mother at the Primary and Cole Schools in Ludlow. Jeanne was a past member of James W. Hannum Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 150 of Ludlow. She was a parishioner at Union Church of Christ and loved to donate hand-knitted items for their annual holiday fair. Jeanne was active in the Ludlow Senior Center and enjoyed the many friends she had met. She loved her community and gave back when she could. She is predeceased by her “one and only” beloved husband Ralph E. Linton who was called home November 14, 2012. Jeanne is survived by her twin sister Jeanette M. Chapman of Yakima, WA, their 5 children and their spouses: Laura Prokop of Ludlow; Norman Linton and his wife Kathy of Wilbraham; Barry Linton and his wife Colleen of Ludlow; Martha Bender and her husband Corkey of Waymart, PA; Sheri Goodreau and her husband Mitch of Stafford, VA. She was known as Nana to her beloved grandchildren: Mark J. Prokop, Marcy Eagen and her husband Bill, Daniel Linton, Andrew Linton, Michael Linton and his wife Julie, Ryan Linton, Jason Linton-Bender and his girlfriend Heather Pridemore, Matthew Goodreau and Adam Goodreau. Cherished great–grandmother of: Carissa, Billy, Dylan, Liam and Patrick. Also survived by extended family members and life-long friends. Sadly she was predeceased by son-in-law, Mark W. Prokop.
