Helen a (Strzempko) Leonczyk, 93 of Ludlow, died peacefully in her home surrounded by her two sons on Wednesday, January 27, 2016. Born in Holyoke, June 7, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Grzanka) Strzempko. Helen grew up in Holyoke, the middle child of 6 brothers and 5 sisters.
Named Miss Riverside in 1940, Helen was a natural beauty. She worked for General Electric for many years and Bradlies Department Store, retiring after 25 years of service. Helen was a faithful member of Christ the King Church in Ludlow and a member of the churchs Ladies Guild and Rosary Sodality.
Helens family rests knowing that Babchi will be greeted by her predeceased, loving husband of 48 years Henry Leonczyk Sr. She will be deeply missed by her two sons Henry Leonczyk Jr. and Joseph Leonczyk and his wife Maryann both of Ludlow. She is also survived by her brother John Strzempko of South Hadley and sisters Emily Zoladz of Pittsfield and Jean Kurdziel of South Hadley. In addition, Helen leaves three beloved grandchildren, Adam Leonczyk and his spouse Rebecca, Peter Leonczyk and his significant other Jessica Lemieux, and Emily Albelice and her spouse Gian; three great-grandchildren, Alessandra and Sienna Albelice, Maxine Leonczyk along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services for Helen will be Monday, February 8, 2016 at 9:00 AM at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home, 64 Sewall St, Ludlow, MA followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in Christ the King Church, Warsaw Ave, Ludlow, MA. Rites of Commital will follow in Island Pond Cemetery, Center St, Ludlow, MA
