Obituary

Eva (Perakis) Sergentanis 97 of Springfield Entered into Eternal rest on Sunday December 4, 2011. Born in Vouta, Selinou, Crete, Greece March 24, 1914, she was the daughter of the late George and Rubini (Kiritsakis) Perakis. A faithful and active member of St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, she was a member of its Over 60 Senior Citizens Club, and was a Member of the Creten Ladies Society. She was the widow of Aristides Sergentanis who died in 1975. Her greatest joy was to be surrounded by her family and friends, and have them enjoy her wonderful Greek cooking. She is survived by her loving sons, Manuel Sergentanis and his wife Sophie, George Sergentanis and his wife Irene, all of Longmeadow, Anthony Sergentanis and his wife Teresa of Springfield and John Sergentanis and his wife Mary of Cedar Grove, NJ. Sister of Spiro Perakis and his wife Antonia of West Springfield. Beloved grandmother of Eva Tillotson and her husband Jack, Harry Sergentanis and his wife Lisa, Calli Kelly and her husband Timothy, Jason Sergentanis and his wife Andrea and Michael Allan and his wife Heather.. Cherished great-grandmother of Alexandra and Kayla Tillotson, Nicholas and Michael Sergentanis, Maria, Christina, Stephanie, and Anastasia Kelly, Benjamin and Adam Sergentanis, Nicole, Emma, William, Adele, and Theodore Allan. Sadly she was predeceased by brothers John Perakis of Crete, and Stelios Perakis of Athens, Greece. Also survived by many nieces and nephews extended family members and friends here and in Greece, including sister in laws Tina Perakis and Pipina Sergentanis.

Service Information

Funeral services celebrating her life will be Wednesday, December 7, 2011. Eva will Lie in State at St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 22 St. George Road, Springfield. Wednesday 9-10 AM followed by funeral services. Fr. Christopher Stamos will preside. Rites of Committal will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Family and friends may call at Byron-Keenan Funeral Home 1858 Allen St. Springfield
