Ernest J. Ouellette, 87, a longtime Ludlow resident, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 16, 2016. Son of the late Adrien and Juliette (Lambert) Ouellette, he was born October 14, 1929. Ernest was a graduate of Cathedral High School and American International College. He proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He worked for many years as an accountant for Westvaco. After his retirement, he spent many years as a shuttle driver for Balise Motor Sales.
Ernest was a devout communicant of St. Elizabeth’s Parish in Ludlow and a member of its League of the Sacred Heart. He was a volunteer at the Parish’s annual Meat Pie project as well as many other activities.
Ernest is survived by four daughters Carol McDaniel and her husband Patrick of Wilmington, NC, Susan (Rieck) Murray and her husband Jim of Hampden, Linda Belisle of Ludlow and Laurie Quinn and her husband Thomas of Milford, CT. He also leaves his five beloved grandchildren Karen, Bridget, Katie, Kelly and Conor and a great-granddaughter Laysha. Sadly he was predeceased by his grandson Scott Rieck in 2006.
Visiting hours at the funeral home will be Tuesday, December 20, 2016 from 4:00-7:00 PM.
Services celebrating Ernest’s life will be held Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at 8:45 AM at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home, 64 Sewall St, Ludlow, MA followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Elizabeth’s Parish. Rites of Committal will be private, at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Ernest’s memory may be made to St. Elizabeth’s Parish, 181 Hubbard St., Ludlow, MA 01056.
