Obituary

Ernest C. Galarneau Jr. 82 of Prospect St. formerly of Greenwich St. Ludlow died Monday February 8, 2010 in the comfort of his home. Born in Springfield, MA February 25, 1927 he was son of the late Ernest Galarneau Sr and Emelia (Jordan) Galarneau. A member of the greatest generation he proudly served his country during World War II as a Technician Fifth Grade with the 1669th Engineer Utility Detachment of the Army of the United States. Ernest had been a textile working with Indian Orchard Finishing Company with many years of service. He was husband of the late Jean E. (Newman) Galarneau who died in 2004, and was father of the late Kim A. Ki-Ki Galarneau who died in 2001. He is survived by his children, David Galarneau and his wife Patti of Colorado, Bruce Galarneau and his wife Jody of Chicopee Randy Galarneau and his wife Annemarie of Wilbraham, Cheryl Salvador of Chicopee and Laurie Lape and her husband Daryl of Florida, siblings Thomas Galarneau of Florida, Dorothy Sowa of Springfield, Virginia Yvon of Chicopee and Emily Lavigne of Springfield Grandfather of 6, great-grandfather of 9
