Ernest G. Brunelle, 97, of Ludlow passed away Saturday, August 1, 2015. Born in Springfield, MA, June 26, 1918, he was the son of the late Victor and Helene (Monette) Brunelle.
Ernie worked as a machinist for Chapman Valve/Crane for nearly 40 years, retiring at 62 so he could enjoy life. He and his wife Helen made several cross country road trips, making good memories each step of the way.
Ernie was a true Christian, a strong man grounded in his faith and active in his Methodist church community. He constantly thanked God for the many blessings he enjoyed-Helen, the love of his life and wife for nearly 65 years, his daughters and their husbands, Joan and Bill Hill and Joyce and George Pazianos; his grandsons Stuart, Greg and Stephen; his great grandson Stuart James and his adopted parents Ferne and Paul Garceau. Days before Ernies death, he marveled at what wonderful family and friends he had. Visits from nieces, nephews, neighbors and church friends were such an important part of his life.
High on his list of important, fun things were gardening, splitting wood, visits with family in Oregon and DC, baking, cheering on the Red Sox making a joyful noise unto the Lord by singing in the choir and being a lay speaker at St Pauls, where he did his last service at age 96. Ernie created so many happy memories that will live on in all of us who love him dearly.
Funeral services celebrating Ernies life will be Saturday, August 8, 2015 at 10:00 AM at St. Pauls United Methodist Church, 123 Hubbard St, Ludlow, MA. Rites of Committal will follow in Island Pond Cemetery
