Edward A. Lemieux, 84, formerly of Ludlow, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 21, 2017. Born in Chicopee Falls, MA on January 17, 1933 he was the son of the late Albert and Martha (Weston) Lemieux. Ed proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was a firefighter of the Town of Ludlow for 16 years and owned Ed’s Painting for over 36 years.
Ed was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved the outdoors..
He is survived by his son James Lemieux of Ludlow, his daughter Susan Lemieux of Arvada, CO, his brother Raymond Lemieux of Columbus, GA, his beloved grandson Erik Lemieux and his longtime companion Ida Walsh Robinson. Sadly he was predeceased by his wife Helene (Wegrzyn) Lemieux and his brother Albert Lemieux.
Funeral services for Ed, with Military Honors, will be held Monday, March 6, 2017 at 6:30 PM at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home, 64 Sewall St, Ludlow, MA. Burial will be private, at the convenience of the family. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be Monday, March 6, 2017 from 4:00 PM until the time of the service. Donations in Ed’s memory may be made to the Ludlow Fire Dept Ambulance Fund, P.O. Box 382, Ludlow, MA 01056.
