Antonio Dias 78 of Miller St. died December 24 in Mercy Medical Center. Born in Ludlow December 1, 1932 son of the late Antonio and Maria (Amado) Lopes Dias. He was educated in local schools and proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict in the United States Navy. He was retired from New England Telephone Company with many years of service. He was a Communicant and Usher at the former St. Mary of the Assumption Church. He was a Charter & Life Member, of the Ludlow Lodge of Elks BPOE 2448. A member of Ludlow Country Club, he had served as a board member, and handicap chairman. He later worked as a ranger and starter at Westover Country Club. Active in Soccer, Tony was a longtime member of the Ludlow Soccer Association, was a soccer coach, and had been a member and officer in the Massachusetts Soccer Referee Association. He was a driving force with LAF- the Lusitano Alumni and Fans.He is survived by his loving family, his wife Pauline M. (LaFlash) Dias, sons Tony M. and his wife Susan of Ludlow, David H. Dias and his wife Theresa of Watha, NC Darren E. Dias and his wife Susan of LaGrange, NC and Glen R. Dias and his wife Darlene of Southwick. Brother of Amelia Dias of Ludlow. Cherished grandfather of David H. Jr. and his wife Brittney, Nichole, Rebecca, Taylor, Carter, Melanie, Courtney, Brittany, and Crystal. Also survived by many extended family members and friends. Sadly he was predeceased by his brothers John and Horace Dias.
