Obituary

Ann (Dudek) Caivano, 95, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2016. Daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Bator) Dudek, she was born September 16, 1920 in Ludlow, MA.
Educated in local schools, Ann worked at the former Westinghouse Manufacturing Co. for many years, meeting the love of her life, Joseph Caivano, while he trained on a tank gun stabilizer before deploying to the European Theatre in 1944. She became a well-loved lunch lady at Veterans Park Elementary School in Ludlow, where the students turned her into a lifelong Bruins and Red Sox fan. She was a devoted communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Parish until its closing. She enjoyed a long and peaceful retirement with her husband, Joseph Caivano, travelling around the country, enjoying the slots in Atlantic City and Connecticut, and hosting many family gatherings with some of the best home-cooked Italian and Polish food around. As her husband and sister neared the end of their lives, she showed great sacrifice and compassion in caring for them, a testament to her love and devotion for all those she cared about.
Ann is survived by her son James Caivano and his wife Lisa of Chicopee, MA; two daughters Shirley Pogodinski and her husband David of Belchertown, MA and Joan Williams and her husband Cliff of Farmington, CT. She also leaves her son-in-law Rodney Pease of Ludlow, MA and her beloved grandson Benjamin Pease and his wife Bianca Stone of New York, NY.
She is predeceased by her husband Joseph Caivano, siblings Jane Curylo, Josephine Magiera, Agness Lata, Joseph Dudek, Edward Dudek, and her daughter, Susan Caivano Pease.

Your family has my deepest sympathy. I’m so very sorry for your loss. Well, I was thinking of something to say to ease the tremendous pain that your family is suffering. So I compiled this list of Scriptures that is sure to bring you comfort in this difficult time: Psalms 55:22; Proverbs 3:5, 6; Isaiah 41:10; 2 Corinthians 1: 3-7; James 4:8; and Revelation 21:4. Be strong. Cherish the memories. May the peace of God be with your family always. And please remember to call upon His name found at Psalms 83:18.
