Obituary

Alyce Mae (Smart) Slosek Hammarlund 91 of Crescent Dr. A member of the greatest generation Ludlow died Friday April 1 in the care and comfort of her home. Born in Ludlow, MA December 30, 1919 she was the daughter of the late James M and Alice (Janes) Smart. A 1937 Graduate of Ludlow High School,she was also a graduate of Memorial Hospital School of Musing in Worcester Class of 1941. She furthered her studies at Springfield College and American International College. She taught home nursing and nurses aid skill during World War II. She was a Ludlow Board of Health Nurse, and was a 27 years school nurse for the Town of Ludlow. She was a lifelong member of Union Church of Christ. Her first husband Charles Slosek died in 1969, and her second husband George G. Hammarlund died in 1990. She is survived by a son Richard Slosek of Hacienda Heights, CA 2 grandchildren Todd R. Slosek of San Francisco, CA and Kristen Slosek of Atlanta, GA. Also survived by extended family members and friends.

Funeral Services Celebrating her life will be Friday April 15, at 11 AM at Union Church of Christ 51 Center St. Ludlow. Rites of Committal will follow in Hillcrest Park Cemetery.

So sorry to hear about your lovely Mom Richard. She was a lady all the way. Took care of so many children. She often talked about her grandchildren to me and how so had wished they lived closer so she could see them more. She was very proud of u Richard and fond of your wife as well. She gave our group at church our name, Ladies of the Evening. She will be missed by many. Linda Jo
