History
As a third-generation family-owned funeral home, we are appreciative of the quality business Stanley and Mary Kapinos started in 1930. Their daughter, Emily grew up in the funeral business and was one of the first women in Massachusetts to obtain a funeral director’s license. Upon marrying Ben Mazur, then a funeral director intern at the family’s funeral home, the couple ran the business until 1991. Ben and Emily’s youngest son, Ed Mazur, joined the family firm in 1982 and then updated the name to Kapinos-Mazur in 1985 to reflect the business’ family heritage.
Ed continues to carry on the quality service that his grandparents started so many years ago, while continually updating and providing families with innovative ways to celebrate a life. During Ed’s management, the funeral home has been the proud recipient of the Pursuit of Excellence Eagle Award, one of the highest honors given to funeral homes that go beyond the expectations of the families that they serve while adhering to the highest ethical standards.
